Compassion in School
Our new grantee, Sneha’s Care in Nepal, provides full day workshops on the “Benefits of Being Vegan” in public and private schools across Kathmandu in coordination with the social studies and science teachers. The workshop educates and informs children about the emotional lives of animals, the morality and ethics of eating animals, the general concepts of vegetarianism and veganism and about the health benefits of a plant-based diet. They assist the schools in setting up a vegan club for the students, with the goal of ensuring cafeterias provide children with plant-based meals in their lunch programs. Club members have the opportunity to visit the organization’s animal shelter where they can volunteer and learn how to cook vegan dishes!
