The Street Dogs of Puerto Rico
Hurricane Maria did not just have a terrible and devastating impact on humans; the street dogs of Puerto Rico were severely affected as well by the deadly storm. We have teamed up with Compassion Kind Foundation to provide financial support to help build indoor kennels (to replace existing smaller metal cages) as well as an outdoor fenced run for the street dogs of Las Piedras, so that they can enjoy more space and comfort during their time at the shelter. Once all the necessary health checks have been completed, they are flown to the United States to be adopted. For the older dogs and those who cannot fly due to injuries, illness or breed, the new and larger kennels allow them to be accommodated in greater comfort for the long term. Everyone needs a second chance!
